Leah at PMAP Conference

PMAP annual conference is a once-a-year opportunity for executives to gather with some of the best minds and the emerging thought leaders in people management. This year, some 1,500 executives attended the conference. Ms. Leah Zveglich, Managing Partner of AIMS International Philippines delivered a session on "Best Practices in Executive Coaching" with Ms. Mary Grace "Miget" Perez, Learning & Development Manager for Asia Pacific Region for Abbott Laboratories. More than 500 people attended the session in spite of storm.

Leah showed her "big picture" of using executive coaching as a vehicle to raise economic competitiveness of the Philippines by developing highly competent leaders through executive coaching and these leaders leading high performing organization contributing to economic growth. She shared her vision of making Philippines a country of top global executives and executive coaches. After Leah shared her insights on when and how to introduce executive coaching in organizations, Miget shared her experience of introducing executive coaching to Abbott as a part of Talent Management program.

Leah and Miget are working together for Abbott Philippines' Talent Management program since September 2007. The program was initially resisted by the management as it was seen unnecessary and too costly. Once the program was introduced in a small scale and showed business results, the management provided the full support and championed the whole program. Miget shared critical success factors based on her experience such as trust, partnership, support from the top management, celebrating small wins, etc. Abbott Philippines saw drastic results in people's moral, engagement level, performance and career outlook.
